Reese Witherspoon has been revealed as the October cover star of American Vogue, following on from September’s model-driven issue. The choice will undoubtably annoy those who celebrated the return of supermodel’s to the cover of Vogue, after years of celebrities taking the spotlight.

Looking very much like her iconic character Elle Woods (albeit a more Old Hollywood incarnation), Reese channels Grace Kelly with the 50’s inspired shots, photographed by Mikael Jansson. The image has already been criticised for being overly photoshopped, which I do agree with; she looks a little like a wax figure. Along with the cover, shot a 73 Questions video, and you just KNOW how much I love those!

Photoshop aside the shots are truly beautiful. It’s feels oddly refreshing to see a softer approach to the photo’s than Vogue’s usually pin-sharp pictures. The second third image in this post is my favourite. The soft golden light is perfect against her blonde hair, creating a halo-like effect. I feel like this is exactly who Reese is, America’s Sweetheart, the angelic girl-next-door! Check out the rest of the shoot below, watch the 73 Questions video and head over to Vogue to read the full interview.
