LUCKY BLUE SMITH: THE FACE, THE HAIR, THE BOY

At the tender age of 17, Lucky Blue Smith, a Utah raised Mormon, is taking over the fashion world in a meteoric rise unheard of for a male model.

With cheekbones worth killing for and eyes the colour of the Mediterranean sea, Lucky Blue Smith is fast becoming the most sought after male model in the world. His floppy hair, which flips between moonlight-silver and snowy white, has become an instantly recognisable trademark for Lucky and singles him out in a sea of dark-haired men who usually parade the catwalks.

But how did he get there so fast? Lucky Blue was scouted at the age of 10 in his hometown and signed with Next Models at only 12 years old. His first job came at 14, and the rest, as they say, is history. At 6-foot-3-inch, he’s certainly not easy to miss (which I can personally attest to; at a meet-n-greet in London, he literally towered over the crowds and, standing next to him for a selfie, I literally felt like a turtle. Check below for photo evidence.)

Smith owes a lot to the phenomenon of social media. After being tagged in an Insta pic with a Acacia Brinley, his account blew up – how many followers currently? A cool 1.1million. He’s landed numerous fashion campaigns, runway shows, magazine covers and been the subject of profiles for Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan (how I myself first encountered him). Most recently, he joined Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain Army for the label’s SS16 menswear show in Paris.

So, in honour of the fact that this 17 year old from Utah is basically taking over the world, I made this post. I genuinely can’t think of a single other male model who has created the sort of hysteria Lucky Blue conjures wherever he goes, and its only the beginning. He’s one Lucky boy.
